Enjoy delicious food and drink at Polesden Lacey
We know how important it is not to get 'hangry'. There are three places to buy tasty snacks, meals, hot and cold drinks and ice cream at Polesden Lacey. So whether you're looking for a hot meal after a long walk, or a cream tea just as Mrs Greville enjoyed, we've got plenty of food and drink to tempt you.
Visit the Coffee Shop
As you arrive from the main car park you'll see the Coffee Shop, a great place to buy hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks to take away. There are delicious sausage rolls, freshly made sandwiches, cakes and scones and hot light lunches.
Food here is served in compostable takeaway containers, so you can find a seat in the coffee shop or go for a walk in the grounds and find a spot for a picnic. There are picnic tables in Home Farm Orchard and Crab Apple Orchard.
Dogs are welcome in the coffee shop and there are seats both inside and outside.
Visit the Café
In the Café you'll find our full menu, with a variety of hot and cold dishes including unique dishes that reflect the spirit of Polesden Lacey. We also have a range of delicious cakes and classic cream teas.
The Café in Stable Courtyard is bigger than the coffee shop with more tables and an outdoor seating area.
Inside the grounds
You'll find another area where you can buy hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and cakes, by Admiral's Walk. There are also picnic benches here, swings and a small play area.
We offer a kids menu and pick-and-mix lunch boxes to take-away. If you're picking up a picnic box it might be worth buying this from the coffee shop on busy days, which is usually quieter.
Mrs Greville was a big fan of afternoon tea which was always served promptly at 5pm. Our pastry chefs keep her tradition alive with a mouth-watering selection of cream teas, cakes, flapjacks and more. You can even treat yourself to a glass of prosecco.
Delicious, home-grown food
Wherever possible, we use fruit and veg grown in the gardens which is sown, nurtured and harvested by our fantastic garden volunteers. That means our menu isn't just seasonal, it has a low carbon foot print too.
We buy delicious meat from our tenant farmer, Steve Connisbee who was the winner of the 'Farming with Nature' award in 2018. All profits from our cafe go towards funding essential conservation work - so every time you eat or shop here at Polesden, you're helping us look after this special place. Thank you.
