Eating and drinking at Polesden Lacey
Looking for a tasty reward at the end of a long trek around the estate or been tempted to a speciality brewed tea or coffee and a cake by the legend of Mrs Greville? Then let us suggest Polesden Lacey’s Granary Café and Cow Shed coffee shop. Serving delicious hot & cold food both are lovely spots to reminisce on the history of the estate.
Hot home-cooked meals
Our chefs prepare a variety of delicious home-cooked dishes using the best local food that's in season. Fresh and flavoursome, our hot counter offers a choice of three mains including a vegetarian option and a roast on Sundays. Our hot soups are the perfect option on a crisp winter's day.
Our Granary Café used to be the old corn and hay store where feed would have been mixed for the horses. We have recently renovated the café to reflect its proud history.
Mrs Greville was a big fan of afternoon tea, which was always served promptly at 5pm. Now our pastry chefs keep her traditions alive with mouth-watering cream teas, sponge cakes, flapjacks and more.
We cater for all the family to make your visit as easy as possible. Choose from our children's pick-and-mix lunch boxes or enjoy a child-size portion of any of our main meals.
Speciality coffee and teas
How do you like your coffee? Our friendly team of trained baristas serve espressos, lattes, macchiatos and more. But never fear - we also serve tea and lots of it. All our teas and coffees are served in sturdy paper cups so you can take your brew with you into the gardens.
We also serve hot and cold snacks to enjoy during your visit, including delicious cakes, brownies and flapjacks freshly made on-site. We can wrap them up ready to take on a long walk.
Food to go
Our chefs prepare traditional, favourite baguette fillings for you to choose from. Take one into the garden, find a special spot to enjoy the view and relax.
