Festive days out in Yorkshire

Get into the Christmas spirit and join us for festive fun, events and great days out this season.

Fountains Abbey an Studley Royal
Christmas at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal really does take your breath away. As dusk settles, the ruins of the abbey look simply magical as they're floodlit with coloured light. Wrap up warm, grab a hot drink and wander through the estate to see it all aglow. We'll also have wreath making workshops and a carol service to look forward to. On weekends, Father Christmas will be with us and there'll be live festive music in the abbey Cellarium too - don’t hesitate to join in if you know the tune!

Nunnington Hall
Discover a 1920s family Christmas at Nunnington Hall.  On arrival be greeted by a roaring fire and a glass of sherry from our butler.  We've decorated the hall as though ready for a family Christmas in the 1920s, with the dining room all ready for dinner and the sitting room boasting a present-laden Christmas tree.  We have special events taking place too - former Seahorses singer / songwriter, Chris Helme will be joining us for a concert in December and we'll also be welcoming male voice choir, the Dalesmen Singers. They'll be bringing to life well-known hymns and Christmas carols - snap up your tickets for both evenings now so you don't miss out!

Come for winter indulgence weekends at Goddards where you can settle into a cosy chair in the old dining room, order a hearty lunch and hear the stories about the Terry family at Christmas. We'll have a crackling fire in the dining room and you can see the house decorated with wreaths, candles and greenery. Look out for tasty chocolate treats to enjoy as you wander round the house - including the legendary stocking filler, the Terry's Chocolate Orange.
