Friends of Coleridge Cottage

The exterior of Coleridge Cottage, Somerset.

The Friends of Coleridge Society was founded in 1986. We aim to foster interest in the life and works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and to support Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey, Somerset, through co-operation with the National Trust.

Members benefit from free entry to the Cottage, local monthly arts evenings in the village hall as well as receiving an academic journal ‘The Coleridge Bulletin’ twice a year.

Friends are also welcome to participate in the biennial International Conference at Cannington and an annual study weekend at Kilve. Both venues are close to the Quantock Hills, which inspired some of Coleridge's greatest poetry.

Many local members act as volunteer stewards at the Cottage, but membership is wide and open to all.
