Camping pods at Great Langdale Campsite
Stay in one of our cosy pods and benefit from a few simple indoor comforts whilst staying in the great outdoors.
We have three Regular Pods and six Plus Pods at Great Langdale Campsite, which are described below.
Our pods are made from wood and built locally. They have sheep wool insulation inside the walls for winter warmth and a special foil layer under the roof to keep summer temperatures down. They all have lighting, plug sockets, foldable mattresses and heating from oil filled electric radiators.
All pods have lockable French doors and a double-glazed window. They are designed to cut down noise made by heavy rain and offer a degree of sound insulation.
What you need to bring
Think of a pod as a replacement for your tent. You'll need to bring everything you would bring if you were camping, except for your tent and mattress i.e. sleeping bag, sleep mat (if you'd like to put one on top of a mattress), pots and pans, stove, camping chairs, etc.

Regular Pods
Regular Pods provide an attractive, dry and spacious camping area.
What are Regular Pods?
Our Regular Pods are a basic replacement for your tent.
What do Regular Pods include?
They include heating, lighting and plug sockets, plus floor mattresses that can be folded up and used as seats in the day.
How many people can stay in a Regular Pod?
Regular Pods sleep up to two adults and one child.
Plus Pods
Plus Pods are larger than Regular Pods and fitted out to provide extra comfort.
What are Plus Pods?
These larger pods have an extra sleeping and storage area, plus electrical under floor heating and a 'sub-zero' insulation pack.
What do Plus Pods include?
The extra front section has two benches with mattresses, which can be used as seating in the day and single beds at night. There is storage space under the benches and hooks to hang equipment. The back section also has floor mattresses, which can be folded up for extra seating.
How many people can stay in a Plus Pod?
Plus Pods sleep two adults plus two children, or a maximum of three adults.
