Kipscombe Farm Campsite FAQs
Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about Kipscombe Farm Campsite.
Is there a reception?
No, the site is run by our rangers, who will pop by to say hello. When you arrive please use the self-registration box to get your tent tag. If you haven’t pre-paid please post payment in the box at the entrance to the field. Find yourself a suitable pitch. We don’t have fixed pitches so find a space where you will have a minimum of a six metre gap from other tents.
Where is the nearest food shop?
The campsite is quite isolated – it’s part of the appeal. You’re not totally cut off, though – Lynton, Lynmouth, Barbrook and Combe Martin all have a (smallish) selection of shops – for a big shop Minehead and Ilfracombe both have large supermarkets.
Where is the nearest pub/restaurant?
The Blue Ball Inn is a short walk from the campsite, and Lynton & Lynmouth are also close by.
Where is the nearest cash point?
There are banks and cashpoints in Lynton. Some of the shops in surrounding villages have cash machines but they may charge a fee.
Do you take bookings?
Yes, you can book online or give us a call.
Do you accept dogs?
Well behaved dogs are welcome, up to two per pitch.
Where are the best local beaches?
You’re spoilt for choice: there are the sandy Atlantic beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands, the tiny rocky inlets of Lee, Heddon and Woody Bays, the point break at Lynmouth, the black sands of Ilfracombe… All are within about half-an-hour’s drive.
Where are some good walks for families?
The South West Coast Path passes by both campsites, and takes in some stunning sights and lovely locations – walk as much or as little of it as the mood takes you.
Do you take credit card payments?
Yes, we accept most credit and debit cards for pre-bookings online or via our office. Onsite payment can be made by cash.
Are you open all year round?
No, we do ‘pop-up’ camping, for a month or so each year – it gives people an opportunity to camp in spectacular spots without impinging on our conservation work.
Can I have a fire or barbecue?
We don't allow fires except in the fire pit, but you are welcome to use a barbecue as long as it is above ground.
Can under 18s stay at the site?
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
Can I park my car by my tent?
No – parking is only in the designated car parks.
