Low Wray Campsite facilities
Low Wray Campsite has all the amenities you need, plus a few added extras such as bike hire and a bird hide, to make your stay with us even more enjoyable.
Shop & reception
The shop and reception is located in the centre of the campsite and has a wide variety of items for sale. We sell all the basics you'll need and also stock a small selection of local meats and specialities, as well as bakery products and hot drinks.
There is a local information point at reception and our staff will be happy to answer questions and provide any extra information you need about the campsite and local area.
The shop and reception are open during the following hours:
Fri: 8am – 10.30am and 3pm – 8pm
Sat: All day from 8am – 8pm
Sun - Thu: 8am – 10.30am and 3pm – 7pm
Toilet & shower blocks
We have three shower and toilet blocks dotted around the campsite to service the different camping areas.
Use of the showers is included in your pitch fee. Disabled toilet and shower facilities are available in the toilet block situated in the 'Vic's Meadow' area of the campsite.
Chemical waste facilities
Our chemical waste facility for campervans is located opposite Woodhouse Meadow/Whitworths toilet block.
Laundry & drying facilities
With all the outdoor activities on offer around the campsite, you’ll be glad to know you can do your laundry on site. Washing and drying room facilities are situated at the rear of the toilet block in the 'Woodlands' area of the campsite. A second drying room is located at the rear of the 'Whitworths/Woodhouse Meadow' toilet block.
To help keep your pots and pans sparkling, we have pot washing facilities available at each of the three shower blocks.
Children's adventure playground
The main play area is situated near to reception and has wooden climbing equipment. There is another smaller, wooden play area, located on the other half of the campsite, for the kids to explore.
Mountain bikes are available for full and half day sessions and great value multi-day rates.
Book at reception and get great advice on routes from our cycle-mad staff. Prices start from £15 for a half day.
Wood fired pizza oven & smokehouse BBQ and grill
Al Frescos (external link) are back with us again this year.
They will be serving pizzas from their wood fired oven and tasty goodies from the smokehouse BBQ and grill.
Take a night off from cooking and sit and chill out with a delicious 12” pizza or a tasty meal from the grill.
Located by reception, there’s plenty of seating so you can eat at your leisure.
Open for business throughout the main season usually on Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat evenings - but check Al Fresco's website for up to date information as this is liable to change with the seasons. Alternatively you can contact them by email.
The campsite has direct access to the lakeshore where you can launch non-powered craft, explore the lakeside beach and go for a paddle or a dip.
More things to do
We also have a bird hide, on-site orienteering course, bat detector kits, a wonderful lakeshore path to Wray Castle and many more things to see and do around the campsite.
