Fun and fresh air on a family walk at Plas Newydd in Wales

Children playing at Plas Newydd

This beautiful island, nestled in the heart of Snowdonia, plays host to a magnificent neo-Gothic house that is home to the Marquess of Anglesey.

Sitting on the banks of the Menai Strait, the area contains plenty of wildlife, which you can spot on this gentle walk, leading you through woodland and out along a short stretch of the coast. You might see woodpeckers and even hawks in the gardens, and jays and nuthatches in the woods.

The walking route is a mile long, over concrete paths with a few steps.
