National Trust is lending support to the Climate Coalition’s Show the Love campaign for Valentine’s Day 2016, the campaign uses the narrative of love and loss to highlight the issue of climate change

In the run up to the UN climate talks in Paris, National Trust released the Forecast Changeable report (November 2015), looking into the effect of climate change on our places. We recently joined with Climate Coalition and are playing our part in promoting their ‘Show the Love’ campaign for Valentine’s Day 2016. The campaign uses the narrative of love and loss to reframe the issue of climate change as a personal and emotional concern and creates a sense and importance of place.

’Show the Love’ centres on the image of a green heart and at National Trust we are encouraging our properties and members of public to create hearts within a natural environment to help promote the campaign and raise awareness of the issues caused by climate change on our sites and on our members.

In the run up to Valentine's Day, pictures from National Trust properties will be released on social media and we will be asking our 4.6million members to back the campaign and create their own natural hearts to share with their friends and family to raise awareness of climatre change.
