South West Outdoor Festival 2017 is chance to take advantage of Cheddar Gorge's crags and caves. Suitable for beginners, and a bucket list site for the most experienced climber.

Climbing

Climbing and Abseiling in Burrington Combe
Cost: £19.95 per person, per session
Description: Experience the thrill of outdoor rock climbing on one of the Mendips’ famous crags and abseil back to the base from the top of the cliff.

Climbing – Cheddar Gorge


Cost: £17.60 / £16 per adult / under 18 with a SWOF festival wristband (20% discount on full price)  
Description: Experience climbing on a natural 50-foot crag, which has a range of natural and artificial holds, in the heart of the iconic Cheddar Gorge, amid the highest inland cliffs in Britain. You will be provided with all the safety equipment and instruction you require to have a safe, enjoyable and rewarding time.

Caving

Caving in Burrington Combe
Cost: £19.95 per person, per session
Description: Go on a subterranean adventure and explore an underground labyrinth of passages and caverns at Burrington Combe, part of Cheddar’s incredible caving complex.

Adventure Caving in Cheddar Gorge


Cost: £17.60 / £16 per adult / under 18 with a SWOF festival wristband (20% discount on full price)
Description: Explore the depths of the famous Goughs Cave in the centre of Cheddar Gorge. You will need to negotiate enclosed spaces, climb up and down fixed ladders, crawl along an exposed ledge with a drop to one side and over the Bottomless Pit to enable you to return to the surface. The only lights to be found in the depths of the cave are the ones on your safety helmet.
