Spring gardens at Calke Abbey, Derbyshire

View of various types of 'auricula primulas' on the shelves in the Auricula 'Theatre'

Calke Abbey is surrounded by gardens and nature reserves that come to life in Spring.

Walk through the bluebells and emerging yellow archangel flowers in the woodland or venture to Calke Park and the National Nature Reserve to see an array of wildlife.
Our collection of auriculas are on display from mid-April, in the only known example of an original auricula theatre in the country. You can also visit The Weir, a tranquil riverside garden in Herefordshire. Native flora and fauna flourish in the original 'wild gardens'.
