Walk With Me at Felbrigg

Visitor enjoying the Walk With Me soundscape experience

After last year’s highly successful production of Wolf’s Child, we are pleased to be working again with Norfolk & Norwich Festival in 2016, with a completely new type of event. Walk With Me opened during the Festival in May and will continue running until October on the days the house is open.

Audio 'walkscape'

'Walk with me' is the work of sound artists, Jeroen Strijbos and Rob van Rijswijk whose walkscapes are present across the world, in locations including Paris, Istanbul, New York and Glasgow. Using GPS technology to superimpose site-specific compositions, natural sounds and narrative onto the surroundings, they invite audiences to choose their own path and tempo to create their own soundtrack.

We’re constantly looking at ways to create new and engaging experiences for our visitors and working in collaboration with other organisations and artists on projects like this enables us to challenge our thinking.

Wander through woods and fields creating your own cinematic experience. With the landscape as your screen, headphones provide a soundtrack of music, words and sound effects. As you move through the grounds, moods change, time flits from past to present and an intriguing narrative by novelist Megan Bradbury recollects the past of Felbrigg Hall and reframes the estate as a place of stories and wonder,

Experience this innovative new outdoor event at Felbrigg Hall until 30 October, with the event running on the days the House is open. Please check our opening times for details.
