See the Causeway like never before

Take the road less travelled and see the Giant's Causeway like never before on a stunning five mile hike along the cliff-top path.

The Giant’s Causeway Cliff-top Experience is a unique opportunity to see Northern Ireland's only World Heritage Site like never before.

Delivered by the National Trust in partnership with local tour company 'Away a Wee Walk', this fully guided hike offers walkers some of the best cliff-top views in all of Europe.

The walk covers 5 spectacular miles of wonderful wild and rugged coastal scenery along grass and gravel paths.  The cliff-top path undulates along the coast gradually getting higher. There are stone steps, wooden stiles and ‘kissing’ gates to cross along the way as you make your way to the most northerly point of Northern Ireland.

In 2017 Walk NI awarded the view from Hamilton's Seat as ' The Most Epic View in Northern Ireland'.

Walkers end their cliff-top hike at the Giant's Causeway, where you can climb the legendary basalt columns before exploring the interactive displays within the Visitor Centre. All participants in the Cliff-top Experience have access to the full Visitor Experience at the Giant's Causeway, voted the UK's Best Heritage Attraction for the past three years.

If you want to understand what makes this section of the coast so historically and geologically important, this will give you a comprehensive experience you will never forget.

The National Trust, the UK's largest conservation charity, maintains this section of the famous Ulster Way walking route. The remarkable cliff landscape and coastal farmland is home for creatures big and small: cattle and sheep inhabit the surrounding fields, chomping down the long grass, while insects thrive below.
