Shopping in the sun room at Goddards
It might be Terry’s but now it can also be yours…if you buy it from the new shop in the rather wonderful sun room.
Welcome to the shop
Part of the charm of Goddards is the relatively small size of the house and the real feel of a family home, however we know many visitors enjoy a browse around a National Trust shop as part of their day out. Where to put a shop without spoiling Goddards House has been a challenge - but no longer. Step into the sun room on the garden terrace for a little retail therapy and to take in the lovely views over the garden.
What to expect
It’s a small space so we’ve focussed on the Terry family and how they lived at Goddards for inspiration, and selected seasonal items from the National Trust range and local suppliers that reflect this.
" It's not Terry's, it's MINE"
Mrs. Terry enjoyed making jam so grab some of the special flavours on offer…….these jars haven’t been made by Mrs.Terry however. We know the Terry family enjoyed picnics in the garden so if you’ve haven’t come prepared, pick up one of the popular blankets, they’re also useful for keeping warm on those cooler evenings.
The beautiful garden is such a key part of Goddards, when in season choose one of the plants on offer to brighten up your outdoor space. Kathleen Terry often pruned the roses in the formal garden; pick up some dead-headers to keep your blooms looking at their best.
And of course, you can pick up a chocolate orange or two. A treat not just reserved for Christmas stockings.
