Golden Cap Ranger Run, Jurassic Coast, Dorset

Running trail

This trail run follows follows the course of the excellent Trust 10 from the National Trust Stonebarrow car park. Marked with pink arrows it’s easy to follow at any time. The figure of eight loop is a good tour of the area including the airy summit of Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast. The Golden Cap estate includes some of the best traditional hay meadows in the country in terms of rare wildflowers and biodiversity.

This route has been created in collaboration with expert trail runners and adventurers Jen and Sim Benson, as part of our Ranger Run Series. The Rangers are working to enhance and protect this abundant wildlife haven by harvesting the seeds from the meadows and planting the surrounding areas. This conservation work has seen an increase in pollinators, birds and rare orchids in the area.
