Can you help to roll out the red carpet?

A vintage sign for tickets

This December at Greenway we'll be rolling out the carpet for a vintage pop-up cinema. Classic crime films will be screened inside a cosy marquee in the garden of Agatha Christie's holiday home. Father Christmas will also be stopping by, and the house will be decorated for a 1950s Christmas. Volunteers are needed to bring these special offers to life - can you help?

Volunteering at the pop-up cinema

Greenway's vintage pop up cinema transports visitors back to the golden age of film. Cinema ushers will be providing a warm and authentic welcome, punching tickets and showing people to their seats in the heated marquee fitted with twinkly lighting, red velvet cinema seats and plush VIP Chesterfield sofas.
As a volunteer cinema usher, you would be provided with vintage-style usher uniform (please wear your own black trousers and white shirt), and have the option of watching the film if you'd like to. During the screening, you'd be on hand in case any visitors request a blanket or need directions to the loo, and after the film you'd be on hand to assist visitors as they leave, and gather up the odd rouge popcorn container.

" The vintage look of the foyer set the scene brilliantly and it was great to see and hear our visitors delight, both when they entered the foyer and then moved into the cinema. "
- Carol Pryce, Vintage cinema usher volunteer

" The trust staff treated us 'vollies' royally, supplying us with hot drinks and popcorn and it was great to feel part of a team. "

Volunteering to help Father Christmas

Father Christmas will be setting up a grotto to greet children and share out presents. Friendly helpers are needed to help with the smooth running of his grotto, and to ensure that every child leaves with a smile on their face. Can you help Father Christmas by handing out the right presents? A vintage-style costume will be provided for all helpers.
