How much does it cost?
The parking charge is £3 per parking session. For members of the Trust it remains free of charge, as are all the hundreds of Trust car parks and properties across the country. Members will just need to show their membership card to the car park attendant, and display their car parking sticker in the window.
Why have car parking charges been introduced?
The National Trust has a responsibility to protect and maintain the places it cares for forever and for everyone. And as a charity, we need to consider all options in making sure we have the right levels of funding in place to do just that.
With visitor numbers growing every year, more and more people are enjoying everything that Greenway has to offer. But if we do not act now it could become a victim of its own success; we need to ensure that the funds are available to protect Greenway; to carry out the necessary conservation work required and to combat the wear and tear that growing visitor numbers bring with them. The money raised by car parking charges will be used to care for Greenway, and protect this special place, which is why the decision was made to introduce parking charges in 2016.
Do National Trust members have to pay the parking fee?
No; members park for free at Greenway, as they can at any of our National Trust car parks and properties right across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. If you are interested in becoming a member and enjoying the many benefits of National Trust membership, including free car parking, please do talk to the team in Visitor Reception when you arrive.
Is pre-booking a parking space still necessary?
Yes; all parking spaces need to be booked in advance online or by calling 01803 842382. It’s best to book your space a day or two ahead of your visit, but limited spaces are available on the day by phone.
