The second-hand bookshop at No.14

Have you heard the news? Our second-hand bookshop has moved! But don't worry, we've not moved far, only across the road to No.14 Friar Street. Every penny you spend in our bookshop comes directly back to Greyfriars, helping us fund our vital work.

Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and generous donations from visitors, the shop is stocked full to the brim with some fantastic titles, ready for you to pick up. 

No.14 Friar Street 

Located across the street from the house, garden and Old Oak Cafe, the second-hand bookshop oozes charm, and regularly decorated in a theme for visitors to take inspiration from. 

With our Old Oak Café close by, visitors can pick out a book and settle down with something delicious to eat and drink, while relaxing in the tranquil walled garden.

You'll find selection of winning titles, comforting classics, helpful local history and children's books, and with prices starting from as little as 10p, there is plenty to choose from and many bargains to be had.

Making a donation

We're incredibly grateful for all the donations given to the Greyfriars bookshop and their sale helps directly with the upkeep of our special place. 

We're currently accepting donations of: 

  • General fiction (chick lit, thrillers, crime, teen drama etc)
  • Non-fiction 
  • Travel books - please note these must be under 5 years old 
  • Jigsaws (complete)
