Take home a plant from our greenhouse
Many of the plants that you see in the garden are grown in our own greenhouse and lovingly propagated by our garden volunteers.
Over the past two years we have grown thousands of plants from seeds and cuttings in our lovely spacious greenhouse. Many of these are destined for the white borders in the walled garden; others, such as primulas and foxgloves, have been planted in the woodland areas. Every week we carefully make a selection to pot up and sell to visitors, from our plant stands in the garden. They may not always be in flower, but you can be assured they are high quality perennial plants which will flower year after year. If you have any questions, staff and volunteers are always on hand to give advice. All proceeds from plant sales go towards buying next year's seeds.
Most plants are either £3 or £4, depending on size - pick your favourite and pay at the kiosk on your way out. There you can also buy logs from the Hare Hill estate, and seasonal potatoes from Mount Farm during the summer months.
