Shopping at Hatchlands Park
Once you’ve finished your walk through the park, wandered through the house or stopped for coffee and cake in the Kitchen Café, don’t forget to drop in to our small (but perfectly formed) shop, packed full of unique items that you won’t find on the high street. With friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to help, why not take time to treat yourself.
We’ve got brilliant buys all year round. From traditional best sellers like our woollen picnic rugs and picture postcards to newer, original ranges of scented products and beautifully designed jewellery. Look out for lovely fine-art prints and what mug-tree would be complete without a piece of Hatchlands china hanging from it.
There’s a wide range of tasty food and drink on offer with delicious biscuits and cookies, spicy jams and preserves, tempting chocolates and a range of hearty beers and ciders. We’ve even branched out into traditional confectionary, so if you’re longing for a sherbert lemon or have a hankering for a cola-cube, we’ve got you covered.
We love local
Alongside all our own carefully crafted National Trust collections, we pride ourselves on the splendid selection of items from local suppliers. Discover hand thrown mugs, milk jugs and tea cups from Gemma Wightman Ceramics, all created in her family home just down the road in the village of Send Marsh. It’s essential to Gemma that all the pieces she produces are things she would use in her own home, hence the ‘approved by Matilda and Lola’ stamp on the base of each piece.
Find bracelets, earrings and necklaces from 4th Storey Silver, a company whose roots began when it’s owner, Alex, started making jewellery as a hobby in her 4th storey Surrey flat. We also stock Long Barn Lavender who are well known for making their own brand of lavender goods from their annual crop, situated close to the historic cathedral city of Winchester, and unique handmade pieces from Isabel Sargent Glass based in Hastings.
Out and about for a family adventure in the park and need a game to keep small hands busy? We've got soft tennis sets, bouncy balls and even fishing nets ready to use in the park. We’ve also got a great selection of children’s books and fluffy stuffed animals to keep little ones occupied on the drive home.
Help us reach our goals
Pick up a brilliant bargain from our second hand bookshop. These pre-loved gems start from just £2 for a hardback, £1 for a paperback or 50p for children’s books. All proceeds from these items go towards a full refurbishment of the Grade I listed organ in the Music Room here at Hatchlands.
