Winter at Hidcote 2018
With an extra special guest, the chance to get creative decorating our tree or making a beautiful wreath, spending some time at Hidcote in the lead up to Christmas is sure to put you in the festive mood.
Wreath making workshops
Our popular wreath making workshops are now all sold out. All greenery used to make your wreath will be from the garden so you really will be taking a piece of Hidcote home with you. You will be guided through how to make a beautiful wreath to hang on your door or use as a centre piece for your table. Workshops take place in our Potting Shed, where the fire will be lit and the sounds of happy chatter and Christmas songs fill the room as you get stuck in to making your wreath.
Decorate the tree
From 24 November until 9 December we need your help to decorate our tree in the Drawing Room. Each weekend there will be a different Edwardian inspired ornament for you to make and hang on our tree. You could even make two and take one home for your own tree.
On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December, Father Christmas will be visiting Hidcote. Families and children will be able to meet Father Christmas and will recieve a gift from him between 10am-1pm and 1.30pm-4pm on Saturday 15 and 11am - 2pm on Sunday 16. As part of this magical weekend there will be a garden trail for families to complete while they are waiting to see our special guest. The trail will be available for those not visiting Father Christmas.
Booking is not needed for this event, however there can be a wait to see Father Christmas. £5 per child which includes Father Christmas, a gift and a garden trail. Normal admissions apply. PLEASE NOTE the garden won't be open until 11am on both days.
This year we are using a brand new route around the garden to help you enjoy the best that Hidcote has to offer in the winter months. Pick up a copy of the route from visitor reception before you start your journey around the garden. With highlights of the garden, views to stop to admire and hints and tips for your own garden over winter it will help you really make the most of your visit this winter.
Eating and shopping
For the first time our Plant Centre will be open over weekends in November and December.
