About Lower Pentire Barn

A sophisticated barn conversion with a timber-frame ceiling and views over Carminowe Creek.

Sitting in a dreamy position next to the still waters of Carminowe Creek, is this stylish barn conversion. It’s based on one floor where its 18th-century rafters and slate floors are met by cool interior styling, a bright double bedroom and a contemporary bathroom. You’ll have your own enclosed garden complete with a picnic table.  Although trees obstruct the view when in leaf, out of season there are great views of the creek and the calming rumble of waves breaking on Loe Bar beyond.

Explore the area by foot; the restaurants, pubs and shops of Porthleven are a pleasant two-mile walk along the sands from here. Helston town is just two miles inland. Discover its folk heritage and stroll around its bustling streets in search of a hearty pasty or a traditional pub lunch.

Further afield, visit Goldolphin House, less than a 20-minute drive, for its acres of dramatic parkland and formal gardens. St Michael’s Mount, just a 30-minute drive to the west, is a must-see. From afar it looks like a mysterious island, but take the ferry or walk across the causeway when the tide is out, and you’ll discover its subtropical gardens and 12th-century castle.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
