About Big Camp at ClivedenHelp set up and deliver one of our popular family camping events in the heart of Cliveden’s extensive woodlands.
Big Camp is one of our most popular events, with families spending the night under canvas in Cliveden’s acres of woodlands. Help transform one of our paddocks into a welcoming campsite, and assist our knowledgeable ranger team in leading nature-themed activities. You’ll spend your first two nights at the Ashridge bunkhouse and then the final night camping at Cliveden so you will need to bring your own tent and camping equipment.
About the accommodation
This bunkhouse provides rustic, basic accommodation which comprises two restored barns located amongst the woodlands and grassland of the Ashridge Estate. The first building comprises two dormitories each containing five sets of bunk beds. The second building contains the kitchen, lounge, toilets, showers and disabled facilities. The kitchen has been recently refitted and outside there is a lovely seating area. The wild fallow deer are regularly seen on the lawn outside the bunkhouse. There is no mobile signal in the bunkhouse but you should find some with a short walk into the nearby woods.
Notes for guests
Where you'll sleep: the first two nights are at Ashridge Bunkhouse and then the final night (Friday night) will be camping at Cliveden. There will be toilets at the campsite but no shower facilities. There is also access to some power points to charge phones/airbeds.
What to bring: participants will need to bring their own tent and sleeping equipment.
A standard kit list can be found on our Essential Information page.
Format of the days: on the Friday night individuals will help with the nature activities at Big Camp until 10pm and will then help with the morning breakfast on the Saturday morning, finishing the holiday at 12noon.
