About Get outdoors and activeMake friends while having fun in the Dales.
Come and spend a great week in Upper Wharfedale making new friends. You’ll help the rangers with footpath maintenance, cutting invasive vegetation or building fences and tree guards. As well as your day off, we’ll arrange other fun outdoor activities for you to enjoy.
About the accommodation
The accommodation is located on the edge of the village of Buckden and at the foot of 702m high Buckden Pike. It is a 200-year-old converted barn with a large living room with open views up to Wharfedale into Langstrothdale. It is an ‘upside down’ building with the living room, kitchen and one bunk room on the first floor and two bunk rooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Each bunk room has two bunk beds. One is en suite, the other two share a bathroom/toilet. Town Head Bunkhouse does not have a garden next to the building but there is a National Trust picnic area with a built-in barbecue just 100 yards away.
Notes for guests
A standard kit list can be found on our Essential Information page.
In addition to the day off we hope to organise a day of other activities such as bushcraft and gill scrambling.
