Are you passionate about woodlands?
We are on the lookout for people who love being outdoors and want to make a positive contribution towards conservation. Holnicote has approximately 2,500 acres of woodlands much of which is designated a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI).
As a Woodlands and Access volunteer, you would help the rangers with improving the woodland habitat on the estate. The role undertakes a wide range of jobs, such as coppicing, invasive species removal, seed collection for use in our in-house tree nursery and much more.
Survey work will be a part of this role, and you will have the opportunity to get involved with everything from lichen and bryophyte monitoring, to rapid woodland assessments. There will also be the possibility of getting involved with long term monitoring programmes including bats and dormice.
Full training will be provided and in return for your commitment to volunteer you will receive a volunteer card entitling you to entry to National Trust properties. Travel expenses can also be compensated.
