Introduction to Geocaching at Hudswell Woods

Fancy having a go at Geocaching? It's a great way to discover the hidden secrets of the countryside.

Geocaching is like an outdoor treasure hunt. Participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) device to hide and seek containers (geocaches), before navigating to a specific set of GPS coordinates and hunting for a hidden geocache.

After being shown how to do the basics by our rangers, you will go off and explore Hudswell Woods following a trail of geocaches. Using a GPS device you'll follow the directions towards the hidden treasure. If you listen carefully there will be a beep when you get close but make sure you have remembered the clue, as you will need that to help you look around. Once you have found the container you can take a prize. If you come across something you prefer in a different box you just swap it.
