Prepare for Christmas at Hughenden
At Hughenden we have the ultimate not-on-the-high-street gift ideas to get you ready for the festive season. If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity, the Café is a great place to warm up after a bracing winter walk exploring the countryside.
Christmas in the Stableyard
The Stableyard is decorated for Christmas with magical lights and a 20ft tree trimmed with giant baubles, a great place to take time out away from the high street.
Stop by the Stableyard Café for a seasonal lunch, traditional cakes and bakes or a delicious hot chocolate, topped off with cream and marshmallows.
Visit the Stableyard Shop for a great selection of ideas for Christmas gifts and treats, from traditional hampers and homewares, to cushions, crockery and coffee table books.
Or for a really personal gift, Hughenden's volunteer countryside team have crafted unique handmade products made from felled trees on the Hughenden estate including bird boxes, coasters, bug hotels and wellie racks.
A Very Royal Christmas
Step back into 1877 as Hughenden presents ‘A Very Royal Christmas: a visit from the Faery’. See the Manor decorated in traditional Victorian splendour to celebrate Queen Victoria’s visit when she and her daughter Princess Beatrice came to lunch with Benjamin Disraeli.
Each room is decorated in a special theme that tells the story of Disraeli’s friendship with the Queen and for younger visitors there are 10 gold crowns to find around the house and a trail with miniature scenes to discover in the gardens.
Why not make the most of the bright winter days in the Hughenden countryside? Don't let the cold put you off, just wrap up warm and enjoy a stroll through the formal gardens, a walk in the parkland or explore the enchanting forests. They’re a tranquil place to breathe in the fresh air and unwind.
