Summer fun and food
If you've visited Ickworth recently, you'll have noticed (and hopefully tasted) some of our new Summer Menu. Delicious sweet and savoury treats inspired by our history using local suppliers and fresh produce from our walled garden.
Following our incredibly popular June Scone of the Month 'Strawberries & Cream', we have continued using the fresh berries in our walled garden for July's 'Ickworth Berries' Scone of the month.
Other new bakery items include our first ever savoury muffin made from Cheddar and Leek. A beautiful combination of flavours!
We have also changed our flapjack recipe – which is a much lower refined sugar content, and including chopped peach and mixed seeds. We have a Raspberry and White Chocolate muffin, perfect as a grab and go option, and will see a rotation of new cakes over the summer including Black Forest Gateau, Carrot Cake slice, Raspberry Cheesecake-Cake, Courgette and Thyme sponge, and Coconut & Pineapple cake.
Our own special ‘Inspired by Ickworth’ recipes have been very popular over the last few weeks – delicious Salmon en Croute from the West Wing Café, as well as homemade mackerel pate on toast are now on the menu. These recipes were inspired by some of Mrs Sangster’s best known dishes in the House.
At Ickworth, we have the prestigious Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark from teh Soil Association, which means we are passionate about using extremely ethical sourcing standards and suppliers – our new Luscombe drink supplier is a very good example of this.
With our brand new summer menu and beautiful settings in our three cafe's we look forward to welcoming you very soon!
