Killerton's Christmas Chutney

It wouldn't be Christmas without some chutney to smother on your cheese and crackers after that roast dinner. Why not give the perfect handmade gift this Christmas and try out this easy chutney recipe from Di, Killerton's Sous Chef.

Killerton's Christmas Chutney

  • Serves Makes 20 pots


  • Cooking Apples 2.75 kg
  • Plums 2.75 kg
  • Sultanas 450g
  • Nutmeg 5g
  • Ginger 5g
  • Cinnamon 5g
  • Malt Vinegar 500ml
  • Brown Sugar 2.5kg
  • Salt 250g



1. Peel the cooking apples and chop into small pieces along with the plums.

2. Then simply combine together with your other ingredients and simmer on a low heat for approximately 3 hours.


20 pots is enough to last you a lifetime, so why not use them as great stocking fillers? Or you can simply halve the ingredients again to make 10 pots.
