Autumn half term at Knole

Explore Knole Park's treasures this autumn

Falling leaves, crisp days and gentle sunshine make autumn a beautiful time to visit Knole.

We’ve got an action packed schedule this half term from fun craft activities to walks in the park to meet our thriving bat population.

Great Storm walk

The Great Storm of 1987 devastated Knole Park, uprooting trees and wreaking devastation as 130mph winds tore through Kent. Join our park walk team to visit some of the worst affected areas and learn how they have regenerated. Hear first-hand experiences of the events of that night.
Saturday 14 and 21 October from 2pm – 3.30pm. Please meet outside the Visitor Centre. The walk is 1.6 miles long and includes some hills so please wear suitable footwear. Suggested donation £2. Children and dogs on leads welcome but the walk is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Family Monday – autumn colours

Get creative with autumn colours at our Family Monday. Come along and make a tissue paper stained glass window or autumn wreath to take home.
Monday 22 October from 11am – 3pm in Green Court. Drop in anytime, no booking needed. £2 per child. Suitable for 5-12 year olds. Please wear clothes suitable for craft activities outside.

Children’s workshop - decorate a herb planter

Grow your own herbs in a beautiful planter decorated by hand. Our workshop includes your own ceramic planter, paints and a selection of seeds to take home.
Wednesday 24 and 25 October from 11.30am – 12 noon and 1pm-2.30pm in the Hayloft.  £9 per child. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Spaces are limited so book online at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/knole/whats-on or by calling 0344 249 1895.

Museums at Night bat walks

Did you know bats are the only flying mammals in the world? Or that they can eat over 2000 insects every night? Discover more about these fascinating creatures by joining our ecologist on a bat walk to celebrate Museums at Night. We will provide bat detectors to help locate Knole’s bat population. Don’t forget to dress in warm clothes and bring a torch. The walk is suitable for children 5+ and will be followed by a craft activity and a warming hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Saturday 27 October, walks start at 6pm and 7pm.  £10 per person. Spaces are limited so book online at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/knole/whats-on or by calling 0344 249 1895. Please dress warmly with suitable footwear.
