Site rules

The notice boards at Highertown Farm campsite at Lansallos

We've made a few rules at Highertown so that everyone can have the best possible stay with us.

Arrival Times

After 1:00 and before 18:00

If you're arriving at our campsite without booking in advance in low season, we recommend you aim to arrive at the beginning of the times above to secure a pitch, or to phone ahead for information. In high season all bookings must made be in advance.

If you have booked and circumstances beyond your control prevent you from arriving within these times, please contact the campsite on 07917 175382 and staff will do their best to assist.

Departure times

Please leave your pitch by 11.00 on your day of departure. If you wish to extend your stay, please inform the campsite ranger or call the booking office on 01208 265211 by 2pm the day before.

Parking

There is space for one car by your tent/caravan. You may be asked to move additional cars to the parking area after unloading. At busy times and/or when the ground is wet you may be asked to move your car.

Dogs/pets

Dogs are welcome on site (maximum of two per party), but please notify us at the time of booking. Keep them on a lead at all times and please clean up after your dog, promptly.

Quiet please

We ask that our visitors are considerate to their neighbours at all times, but ‘quiet please’ between 11.00pm and 7.00am.

Pitches

We don’t have fixed pitches. Please check the information board on arrival and ensure you are at least a 20 foot gap (6m) between tents.

Groups/ Maximum occupancy

We have a separate camping field for organised groups such as educational groups, D of E, Scouts and Guides. Proof of group status may be required when booking.

All group bookings must be made via the ranger office and cannot be made online.
Email: southeastcornwall@nationaltrust.org.uk or call 01726 870146.

Any party larger than four adults and four children will be considered a group. Family and friend groups are only accepted with prior agreement but our site is not suitable for stag, hen or birthday parties.

Fires/Barbecues

For fire safety and for respect for other campers, campfires are not allowed, but barbecues are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground. Ask the campsite team for stones if necessary.

Safety

Cooking inside tents is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed on the site.

Special requests

Although we cannot guarantee electric hook-ups, we will endeavour to provide one for those who have medical requirements.

Problem or complaint

Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the campsite amenities are presented to a high standard. Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. National Trust will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during the Visitor’s stay. There are comment cards in the barn for your suggestions. All complaints made after the Visitor’s departure should be made in writing by post or email to:
