Schools out for Summer!

Glorious weeks of freedom from lessons also mean a freedom from dressing up in school uniform, giving the ideal opportunity to have a rummage in the Guildhall costume collection to experience the clothes of Tudor life.

From getting stuck into 50 things to do before you're 11 and 3/4 descovering some tiny new friends living in Bug-gingham Palace in the garden, to meeting your first ever mummified cat with our resident Rammeses, theres plenty to discover.

Elsewhere in the Guildhall, there are 500 years of history to discover including many tactile, and interactive exhibits bringing to life the charactors and real stories of the people who for over 5 centuries influenced and brought great change to the extroadinary history of this special place.

A few eyes might widen at the discovery that youg choldren  were been sent to prison an experience you can learn about through the eyes of Ann Baker, who was imprisoned here in the eighteenth century, when the main building was a jail. 

Finish off your visit by taking a well-earned break in the Tudor tea-room, home to a slection of hot and cold drinks and home-made treats.
