Beginners drawing classes
Join local artist Jane Allison for an introduction to the basics of drawing and choose to put your work into a mini exhibition at Leith Hill Place.
About the course
This autumn Leith Hill Place will be hosting a beginners drawing class with artist Jane Allison. no experience is needed, just a desire to learn and to draw. The classes will cover different aspects of drawing including observation, tone, perspective and experimenting with different mediums. Participants will be required to bring some basic drawing materials with them including a variety of pencils, charcoal, and A3 sketchbook, rubber and sharpener. The workshop will take place inside Leith Hill Place and also in the grounds, giving you a huge variety of things to draw.
Displaying your work
At the end of the course participants will be invited to enter one of their pieces into a mini-exhibiton at Leith Hill Place which will be open to the public at weekends until 21 October, giving friends and family a chance to visit and see your work.

The course will run for four Tuesdays - 18, 25 September and 2, 9 October from 10am-12:30pm. Hot drinks will be provided. The cost for the four sessions is £80 and must be booked via Jane Allison firstname.lastname@example.org or 01483 562082
About the artist
Jane Allison trained at Chelsea School of Art and at the Slade School of Fine Art and has worked since then as a professional portrait painter. She has painted a wide variety of people from all walks of life, and has completed many official commissions, where the real challenge has been to balance the intrinsic character of the individual with the demands of the position represented. Her most recent portrait is of the Duchess of Cornwall in her capacity as Honorary Colonel of the 4th Wiltshire Rifles. Other notable sitters include Dr. John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York, Baroness Greenfield and Henry Allingham aged 113 and one of the last veterans of the First World War.
