Volunteering opportunities at Leith Hill Place
We're always on the look-out for new members to join our team here at Leith Hill Place. Do you have a hidden talent to share? Maybe you’re looking for a new challenge? Are you interested in supporting the National Trust, or perhaps you simply want to be involved in welcoming our visitors as they explore our special house, full of music, art and history and a spectacular view. Find out more about the volunteering opportunities available here at Leith Hill Place.
We have plenty of volunteering opportunities at Leith Hill Place, so whatever your interests and whatever time you have to spare, we would love to hear from you. The house is open to visitors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays so availability at the weekend from time to time is helpful.
" No day I’ve worked at Leith Hill Place has been the same, which is one of the joys. Sometimes I’m serving hot drinks in the kitchen, or welcoming visitors on the front desk, or taking people on an audio tour in the attic, sometimes all of these activities on the same day. There are also opportunities to help at the concerts (the wonderful music is a free bonus) or at another event, for example at a wreath-making workshop. Added to this, you get to know the other volunteers and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. My greatest pleasure is, I think, walking down the drive, admiring the view and then hearing live music as I enter the house. "
Do you see yourself joining our maintenance team who once a week when the house is closed, meet to do a variety of maintenance and DIY jobs; perhaps baking some scones and cakes for our visitors to enjoy or welcoming visitors at the front desk, checking memberships and explaining what is on offer? Only partially restored, Leith Hill Place isn’t a typical National Trust experience. We like to offer our visitors a homely, relaxed and warm welcome.
It wouldn’t be possible for us to provide this experience without the support of our dedicated volunteers and we have several different ways for volunteers to get involved. Click on the title to open the job description for each role:
To apply for a volunteer role please either email us or to speak to us about it, please call us on 01306 711685 (messages may not be picked up every day).
The house is currently closed to visitors but do please call or leave a message and we will be delighted to discuss volunteering for the 2019 season. We open our doors for the 2019 season on Friday, 29 March.
