Royal College of Music Concert No 3: Soraya Mafi, Tim Nelson and Lucy Colquhoun
Soprano Soray Mafi and Baritone Tim Nelson are accompanied by pianist Lucy Colquhoun in this inspiring and varied vocal recital.
Enjoy Vaughan Williams' 'Songs of Travel' in the house where he grew up. The programme will also incude ‘Cinq Mélodies Populaires Grecques’ by Ravel, ‘Vier Ernste Gesänge’ by Brahms and ’11 Songs’ by Ireland.
Hailed as 'a young singer of real promise' by Opera magazine and featured as a New Face of opera in The Telegraph (2014), Soraya Mafi is a rising star, having won numerous awards. Soraya made her highly acclaimed professional début in 2013 at Grange Park Opera and is currently performing with English National Opera.
Tim Nelson has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, the London Handel Festival, Gloucester and Guildford Cathedrals, St Martin-in-the-Fields and Cadogan Hall; He appeared in the 2012 BBC Proms and was a Jerwood Young Artist at the Glyndebourne Festival.
Lucy Colquhoun specialises in piano accompaniment and has performed the Purcell Room (Park Lane Group) St James’s, Piccadilly, St Martin in the Fields, The National Gallery, Trinity College Cambridge, Chelsea Arts Club, Schubert Society of Great Britain, Delius Society, British Music Society, Buxton Festival and Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room.
