Family days out in Buckinghamshire

In the depths of winter, the days are short and and the months can seem awfully long. Hibernation indoors is tempting, but not an option with kids who are coiled, spring-like, with pent-up energy.

The only thing for it, is to get the whole family out of the house for a change of scene and run-about in the outdoors. Our places in and around Buckinghamshire feel particularly special in winter. They're quieter, with acres of space to run and play.

Gardens and parkland are sculptural in their sleep, but there are sticks, cones and acorns to find. There are robins and blue tits looking for seeds and company. On a warmish day you might spot squirrels searching out their winter stash for a snack.

Whatever the weather, your family will get a warm welcome from us this winter.
