Running - our monthly Trust10 10k run is free, fun and must be one of the most spectacular routes in the Midlands! For those who are starting thier running journey there's the option to do one lap, or for those wanting to challenge themselves you can do both. Longshaw also makes a great spot for your own runs, jogs and speedy walks to blow the cobwebs away and feel energised for the New Year. You can also join in with our Thursday Evening Interval Running Sessions with athlete Becky Lyne. Her friendly, mixed ability running group is ideal for those seeking to progress their interval training, with runs and reps tailored to meet all levels and distance preferences, everyone is welcome in their quest to improve their fitness.

Meet like-minded people -  We run free guided walks every Wednesday and Sunday from the Tea Room, the perfect way to banish any winter blues and meet new people. Simply drop in and discover more of Longshaw's history and how we look after the estate.

Spend time together - From delicious cakes in the tea room, walks with family and friends, to learning more about nature together, why not use Longshaw as a backdrop for spending time with your family and friends this year?

Give something back -  Join The Mudlarks volunteering group which was founded in 1990 and is a friendly, mixed group that caters for people ranging from 16-years and above, who enjoy carrying out practical conservation tasks across the Longshaw and the Dark Peak estates. We also have our monthly, family-friendly Muck-In Days that take place on the second Sunday of every month; sessions at Longshaw are proving very popular so look out for sessions at the Eastern Moors. If you would like more information or to discuss any volunteering opportunities then please get in touch with our very friendly Volunteer and Community Involvement Manager for the Peak District, by emailing: deborah.webster@nationaltrust.org.uk
