Shopping at Lydford Gorge
Stop in the shop for some guilt free retail therapy, everything you spend goes into looking after special places like Lydford Gorge for ever for everyone.
The shop and plant centre are located at the Devil's Cauldron entrance and are stocked with a range of National Trust favourites as well as products from local suppliers. Currently available are Dartmoor calendars for 2019 from ASC photography based in Belstone, unusual pure wool jewellery from a Devon based mother and daughter duo, and lots more.
A selection of delicious jams, chutneys, biscuits and sweets now feature views of the gorge, making them a great gift or memento of your visit to Lydford. The Whortleberry jam - which is made from the wild Devon bilberry and pronounced Wer-tull-berry or Ertz in Devonian - is a proper taste of Dartmoor.
The outdoor range includes fleeces, rucksacks, boots, and things that you might need to explore the Gorge and wider Dartmoor area. Walking poles, which can be useful when traversing the uneven paths in the gorge, are also for sale. Sweets, chocolate and biscuits are a cheeky indulgence after all that effort, but worth it.
You can find herbs, wild flowers, shrubs and more in the plant centre, all plants are supplied by the National Trust Lanhydrock nursery.
A selection of confectionary, children’s toys and outdoor essentials are also available from the Waterfall entrance visitor reception.
