This summer have an adventure at Lyme and discover more about our fearless explorer Thomas Legh, as his travels are brought to life in LEGO©. This unique exhibition begins on Saturday 22 July and runs until Sunday 3 September 2017.
A journey in brick Join us this summer at Lyme where you can discover all the exotic places that our adventurer Thomas explored whilst on his perilous journeys to the far reaches of Petra and Egypt, wonderfully constructed by LEGO© artists from Warren Elsmore. You will have the unique opportunity to see a bespoke LEGO© model of Lyme and also have the chance to let your imagination run wild and build your own creations in the beautiful gardens.
Cruising the rails at Lyme
Warren Elsmore and his team of artists are creating models based on the amazing sights Thomas Legh, who inherited Lyme when he was just five, saw on his travels later in life. Thomas transformed Lyme during the Regency era, but he also grew up to be a fearless explorer – going further than any other European before him.
Camels trekking around the gardens at Lyme
Through models constructed from LEGO© bricks the story of Thomas and his travels will be bought to life for younger visitors but as we have found the possibilities are endless (no matter what your age), when it comes to LEGO© and a good dose of imagination!
Fun with LEGO© = no age limit and endless possibilities!
Some of the models that you will encounter whilst exploring this exhibtion will be a boat like the one Thomas Legh travelled on, the pyramids of Egypt and a very special reconstruction of Lyme.

The exhibtion will run from Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September 2017. Vehicle admission applies, house and garden ticket required, NT members free.
A mini Cage
A massive thank you to Andrew and Suzanne Bertenshaw for the truly amazing creations made out of LEGO© and to Simon Mayoh for bringing the models to life around Lyme. The models featured in the pictures will be hidden throughout the house and garden, bring your family and friends and try and find them over the summer!
