Walks at Lyveden

Lyveden lodge reflected in the moat

During the summer months the countryside surrounding Lyveden is idyllic. Why not come and take a stroll up the viewing mounts to see the landscape in all its glory? Or if you’re feeling more energetic stride out along the footpath to take a shady walk in one of our neighbouring woods. You can always be able to find an ice cream in our café to cool you down afterwards.

Visit Lyveden during the summer and you’ll see you’ll see nature in all its glory.  A haven for biodiversity with meadows, orchards, woodlands and moats, Lyveden is alive during the summer month.   Tread Lyveden's mown grass paths, catch a glimpse of your reflection across the moats or go for a longer stroll along the Lyveden Way towards Fermyn Woods Country Park (not National Trust).

If you’re feeling in a reflective mood, why not come and walk the path of the freshly cut grass labyrinth.  Engage all your senses to experience Lyveden at its finest - listen for uplifting birdsong, feel the weather on your face and spot red kites playing on the thermals. Dew glints on the long grass as the sun sparkles on our moats.

Perfect for all the family, there’s plenty to see and do for younger explorers.  A hike up to the garden lodge will feel like a journey of discovery to an imaginative young adventurer. You can also pick up an explorer backpack from our visitor reception to help keep the fun going as you walk.  And don’t forget that your four-legged family members are always welcome at Lyveden, just be sure to keep on leads at all times.

Join us on Tuesday 14 June at 11am for a guided wildflower walking tour through the gardens. Click here to find out more.

No walk is complete without stopping to refuel before heading home, so why not treat yourself to one of our iconic cream teas or a scoop of ice cream?

Our café has plenty of tempting treats available to eat in or take out, including light lunches, cakes and bakes and hot and cold drinks. Our menu is changing regularly so if you have dietary requirements, please let a member of the team know. They will be happy to find out the ingredients to different items and will do their best to find you something delicious.

Each time you treat yourself in the café you are helping to support the conservation and running of this very special site.

Please check opening times at Visitor Reception.
