Park and ride to Max Gate

From 25 May to 2 June why not park and ride to Max Gate?

Visitors to Thomas Hardy’s house at Max Gate in Dorchester will be able to try out a new park and ride scheme, operated with Kingston Maurward College, this May half term.

Parking for Max Gate is limited and the National Trust has been exploring ways to make it easier for visitors to get to the house.

Thanks to a partnership with the agricultural college Kingston Maurward, visitors will be invited onto a free park and ride service between 25 May to 2 June, which will ferry them to and from Max Gate every half an hour during Max Gate opening hours.

The parking area for the park and ride is close the main college building at Kingston Maurward (DT2 8PY). Child passengers will need to have their own car seat to use the service.
