Family fun at Mompesson House this summer

Young girl with inky hands

For the first time, Mompesson House is open every day during the summer holidays. To celebrate we’re putting on family activities on Thursdays and Fridays, days we’re usually closed.

There’ll be printmaking activities in the garden on Thursdays and Fridays in August, inspired by our current exhibition on the work of artist and printmaker Rena Gardiner.
Families can come along anytime between 11am and 4pm, enjoy the exhibition and then try out printmaking for themselves.
We’ll be making block prints using pressed foam and printing ink. Paper and pencils will be available to try out different printing designs. There’ll also be some stamping activities for younger children.
The printmaking activities are taking place in the garden and so will be weather dependent – please call the property on 01722 335659 if the weather is looking inclement.

You can play a game of croquet on the lawn with our new foam croquet set, following in the footsteps of past residents the Townsend family.

Children’s guide

We have a free children’s guide to the house; you can spot hidden faces in the plasterwork.
