Set in the garden of Virginia Woolf's country retreat, Monks House Studio is a calming space

This article related to our garden studio which was available to rent through our Holiday Cottages until September 2017 when it was withdrawn from the holiday cottages portfolio. The studio is being converted to an alternative use for the future.

For literary lovers, Bateman's, the home of Rudyard Kipling is located approx 35-40 minutes away in the beautiful Dudwell Valley. Henry James' home at Lamb House, Rye is only a little further. Both properties are managed by the National Trust and highly recommended.

For the walkers and cyclists amongst you the South Downs Way is located only a few heartbeats from Rodmell and Monk's House. Extending for almost 100 miles between Eastbourne and Winchester, you can take your pick of which section to complete during your stay. The Seven Sisters section is one of the trickier stetches but well worth it for the fabulous views.

Take this opportunity to discover all that 'Bloomsbury in Sussex' has to offer. Charleston Farmhouse, the home of Virginia Woolf's artist sister is located approx 25 minutes away. The small church at Berwick, painted by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant is also a must.
