The garden, parkland, house shop and cafe at Montacute House are open. On weekdays you don’t need to pre-book your visit. At busier times, like weekends and school holidays, booking is recommended to guarantee entry.

The garden, parkland, house, café, shop and toilets are open. We've introduced advance booking to keep everyone safe and maintain social distancing. To avoid disappointment please book in advance, especially at busier times such as weekends, school holidays and bank holidays. However, where space is available on weekdays, pre-booking isn't always necessary.

The house reopened on 17 May. A glittering Elizabethan Renaissance masterpiece, its walls of glittering glass set in glowing ham-stone make this a place of beauty and wonder.

Our café is serving a range of light brunch and lunch options, hot and cold drinks, snacks and cakes. We’ve introduced new safety measures including screens at our till and collection points, and waymarked routes. Indoor seating is available, but is limited. Card is the preferred payment method. We look forward to welcoming you and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone.
