Watermeads Nature Reserve

Watermeads is a nature reserve just 20 minutes by foot from Morden Hall Park, and an integral part of the history of the National Trust in London.

History

Watermeads nature reserve was given to the National Trust in 1913 by Octavia Hill, one of the National Trust's founding members.  The area around Morden and Wimbledon was very close to Octavia's heart and one of her eight sisters, Miranda, was a teacher in the local area.  Prior to 2015 it had been in the National Trust's care, but only open by special request
