This event happened in 2016 and is now finished.

We're hosting a Beatrix Potter exhibition from 16 July - 18 September, accompanied by a fantastic family trail around the grounds.

Beatrix Potter: Play and Childhood exhibition at Mottisfont

16 July - 18 September, 11am - 5pm: a very special exhibition – the only one in the south of England - marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter, featuring 30 original drawings and watercolours.

Beatrix Potter family activity trail

Accompanying our exhibition is a Beatrix Potter-themed adventure trail for younger visitors, inspired by her playful characters and colourful stories.

Open tiny doors to discover your favourite characters as you explore the grounds, completing activities along the way: count carrots in Mr McGregor's Garden, go fishing like Jeremy Fisher and knock down china like the mischievous Hunca Munca and Tom Thumb.

There's also a crafty activity for you to take home, and you'll even get to write your very own story, just like Beatrix Potter.
