Now open...Folly Field play area

Rope bridges are great fun

Over the past few months we've been working on an exciting addition to the garden. Folly Field is a new natural play area, inspired by Newark's wildlife and its history.

We've been working with a specialist play contractor to design and install the new play area in the Lakeside paddock. The main feature is the Folly Castle, inspired by Newark's garden folly and complete with rope bridges and gothic arches. The lakeside paddock has lots of space for running around, or to enjoy a picnic.

Our garden and ranger teams have created the adjacent Woodland Play Area, made with trees from the estate. With the help of our volunteers and the Cotswold rangers children can now enjoy this area full of stepping stones, balancing beams and a hazel tunnel. And woodcarver Andy has carved many Newark woodland animals; can you find them all?
