Rejuvenation works at Nuffield Place

Have a look at what we're doing, as we close the tennis lawn for these vital works

Nuffield Place is seeing some major rejuvenation works happening across the site. We’re updating our effluent disposal systems as well as some other bits and bobs across the property to make sure that you can have an even better day out at Nuffield Place.

What’s happening?

We’re updating waste systems to move away from septic tank disposal and to move our waste into the Thames Valley sewage treatment plant. This is a great step to ensure Nuffield Place is an environmentally sustainable site for many years to come.

Where will this work be taking place?

To complete this work, we have worked largely on the Tennis lawn. The work left a dip in the lawn which we will be refilling over the next few months, and then reseeding the grass. There will be no access to the tennis lawn during this period, but we encourage you to have a look at the progress of these vital works. We hope to re-open the Tennis lawn in September.

A thank you to visitors

It is with the continued support of National Trust members and visitors that we are able to place such investment at Nuffield Place, ensuring visitors are able to enjoy the fruits of Lord and Lady Nuffield’s hard work for many years to come. Every tea and cake bought in our café, and every piece of Morris memorabilia bought in the shop helps us keep Nuffield Place special for ever, for everyone.

For more up to date information about the septic tanks works, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages, or speak to a member of the team at Visitor Reception.
