Autumn at Nunnington Hall

Nunnington Hall over the River Rye

Come and experience Nunnington Hall in autumn. Wander through the orchards admiring the autumnal colours and explore the art exhibitions in the house.

Autumn at Nunnington Hall

From the Black Walnut tree that first greets as you head over the bridge to the fruit trees in the orchard, trees are the star of the show in autumn. There's autumnal colour throughout the gardens and the orchards spring into life with fruit aplenty. Ask our garden team for helpful tips and suggestions and fascinating facts in our compact but beautiful organic gardens.

In the house, Gillian Tyler: Every picture tells a story displays work inspired by the seasons, nature and wildlife. Layla Khoo's Change in Attitudes is an artistic response to Nunnington Hall's skins conservation projects. The Essex House Tapestries: the life of Julie Cope by Grayson Perry are on display in the Drawing Room.

During October half term there are autumnal floral displays throughout the house and craft activities on selected days.
