How to visit 16th century Oakhurst Cottage
Our wonderful cottage was lived in right up to the 1980s, having survived through the centuries from the 1500s. Due to Oakhurst's age and fragility, visitors must book a guided tour.
Book a visit to explore the cottage
Please note, Oakhurst Cottage is currently closed to further reduce the spread of coronavirus. We're not accepting any bookings at this time.
We run afternoon tours on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between April and October. Guided tours are approximately 45 minutes long and begin at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm (last tour is at 3pm in October).
Please contact us to arrange your visit in advance. To make a booking, call 01483 208936 or email us. Only telephone bookings can be accepted if you wish to book a tour on the day of your visit, subject to availability.
Groups of six people
Due to the age and size of the cottage, we can only admit at most six people at a time. If possible, please make use of one of our four allocated parking bays beside the Hambledon village shop.
A window into a past world
At the end of 2014, Oakhurst went through extensive renovation work. Today the cottage is dressed to offer a glimpse into rural English life in the 19th century.
