Café at Ogwen Cottage
Our newly opened café is an adventurer’s delight. Nestled in the heart of Nant Ffrancon our little café can provide a welcome respite to your day of climbing/hiking up the Ogwen valley.
Ogwen Cottage resides on a particularly scenic spot of the A5 trunk road. It overlooks Llyn Ogwen and is flanked by the steep banks of Pen Yr Ole Wen and the rugged shadow of Tryfan. It’s actually nestled between two mountain ranges, the vast expanse of the Carneddau to the north-west and the dramatic peaks of the Glyderau to the south-east.
What’s on the menu?
Sit back, relax and enjoy a bite to eat in our café. We have a selection of food on offer from fresh sandwiches, homemade soups or stews and we’ll have a selection daily specials for you to choose from.
We’ll be serving our speciality National Trust teas and coffee and a selection of our traditional and sometimes exotic cakes. There will also be a selection of cold beverages available.
We also provide a lunchbox that’s available on demand for you to take away with you on your journey. Lunchbox includes a sandwich, flapjack or brownie, a packet of Burts crisps, one fruit and a water bottle.
The café is located within Ogwen Cottage that is run in partnership with The Outward Bound Trust during school term as an outdoor activity provider. Therefore the café will only be open on weekends and school holidays from April to September, if you’re not sure just check our opening times.
